Import your Copilot Money data into Fyncora

Export your Copilot transactions and the preset handles the rest — its Transaction Type column sets each amount's direction, and excluded rows stay excluded.

Copilot can export your transaction history as a CSV, and Fyncora has a verified preset that reads it — including the two Copilot quirks worth knowing about: unsigned amounts, and excluded rows.

What you'll need

A Copilot transactions CSV. Export from Copilot on the web or desktop — that's where the export is richest — via Settings → Account → Export your transactions. Choose a date range (the last 12 months is a good start; you can import more later) and download the file. It has the columns Date, Name, Amount, Transaction Type, Category, Account, Note.

Import your history

  1. In Fyncora, open Transactions and select Switch from another app.
  2. Pick Copilot Money.
  3. Upload your CSV.
  4. Map each Copilot account to a Fyncora account, creating any that don't exist yet.
  5. Review the category matches and the preview, then commit.

Like Mint, Copilot writes every amount as a positive number and uses its Transaction Type column to say which way the money went. The preset reads that column, so money out arrives as expenses and money in as income — nothing flips. Dates are read as YYYY-MM-DD, Name becomes the description and merchant, and Note is kept in notes. Transactions you'd marked as excluded in Copilot are skipped automatically. Category names are matched to yours; anything unmatched arrives uncategorized for you to fix in bulk.

What comes across, and what doesn't

Comes across: your dated transactions with amounts, names and categories.

Doesn't come across: budgets, account balances, and investment holdings with their cost basis — Copilot can't export holdings at all. Recreate budgets fresh, add holdings by hand in Investments, and after importing, check each account's balance and correct its starting balance if needed — see Fix a wrong account balance.

After the import

Check a handful of rows before you trust the totals — a paycheck should be positive, groceries negative. If anything looks wrong, open Transactions, find the import batch, and select Delete batch to remove everything that import created in one step.

FAQ

Why did everything import as income? The file was read without Copilot's rules — Copilot amounts are all positive, so the direction lives in the Transaction Type column. Delete the batch and re-import with Copilot Money selected as the source.

Why are some transactions missing? Two usual causes: the date range you chose at export, and rows you'd excluded in Copilot — those are skipped on purpose. Export a wider range if you want more history.

Is it safe to import the same range twice? Yes. Fyncora fingerprints each row (date, amount, description, account) and skips ones it already has.
